"The way the choreography retains the original’s reserve matches the slow burn of a strip tease, but it departs from burlesque structure as well" ~Seattle Dances
Inspired by the films of Frederico Fellini and the incendiary classic, Afternoon of A Faun, Lily Verlaine drew out one of her stars, Paris Original, and put him center-stage as the lovelorn, narcissistic Faun. He is joined by a visually arresting, topless, androgynous corps du burlesque who by turns provoke and placate him. This piece is available for festivals and tours.
